Today, the sambo competitions kicked off at the Goygol Olympic Sports Complex as part of the 3rd CIS Games.
The competitions are being held in eight weight categories in the men’s division.
Abdullatif Musayev (53 kg) and Nijat Rahimov (64 kg) became champions. Rustam Gasimzade (58 kg), Abubakir Huseynov (98 kg), and Rasul Sammadli (+98 kg) won silver medals. Mikail Amirov (71 kg), Sadig Nadirov (79 kg) and Khazar Amrakhli (88 kg) claimed bronze.
Amrakhly (88 kg) lost in the semifinals and will fight for bronze.
