Grace and Strength: Azerbaijan’s Rhythmic Gymnasts Ready for the 3rd CIS Games

Only a few days remain until the 3rd CIS Games, and Azerbaijan’s rhythmic gymnasts are continuing their intensive training.

From September 28 to October 8, Azerbaijan will host the 3rd CIS Games — a major sporting event that will cover seven cities across the country. The program includes 23 sports, with rhythmic gymnastics bringing together the leading gymnasts from across the region. The competitions will be held in Shaki.

According to Nazrin Jafarzade, a coach of the rhythmic gymnastsnational team, preparations are proceeding according to plan and have already reached the final stage. “Our girls train intensively every day. Currently, the team is in excellent physical and psychological shape. The squad was formed based on results shown by the athletes in both national and international competitions since the beginning of the year,” the coach stated.

The main goal of the team is to perform impressively on the floor. “For us, the most important thing is that our gymnasts demonstrate at the competition the skills they have mastered in training. Of course, every athlete competes for results, and we also aim to win medals. But above all, our priority is beautiful performances, and the results will follow,” Jafarzade emphasized.

She also noted that the level of competition at the 3rd CIS Games will be very high: “The teams come well-prepared, and each will compete for medals. This presents both a challenge and a great motivation for us. Our team is preparing with high motivation, and we hope to represent our country with honour.”
