A taekwondo athlete Ziya Hasanli (63 kg) secured the first gold medal for Azerbaijan at the 3rd CIS Games.
In the final of the taekwondo tournament held at the “Kur” Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir, he defeated a representative of Russia Egor Lakii to become the champion of the 3rd CIS Games.
This is Azerbaijan’s first gold medal at the home Games.
