Semifinal boxing matches took place today at the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex as part of the III CIS Games.
Azerbaijani boxer Gardash Rahimov (46 kg) defeated Tajik Damir Nazarov (3:2) and reached the final.
Our other boxer Shakhin Aslanov defeated Russian Dmitry Klyushnikov 4-1 in the 60 kg weight category in the semifinals.
Another Azerbaijani boxer Safdar Mammadzade (+80 kg) defeated Kazakhstani Yerketang Zharkinbek (5:0) and secured a ticket to the finals.
Ali Aliyev (48 kg) defeated another representative of Kazakhstan, Baltin Korganbek – 3-2.
In another semifinal match, Ali Abasly (52 kg) defeated Turkmen Hangeldi Lukmanov 5-0.
Thus, 5 boxers from Azerbaijan qualified for the finals.
It should be noted that the final matches between male boxers will be held on October 5.
