Boxing competitions in the framework of the 3rd CIS Games continued today at the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex.
Azerbaijani boxer Ali Aliyev (48 kg) met with Mukhammedali Kanybekov (Kyrgyzstan) in the 1/4 finals. He defeated his opponent 5-0 and advanced to the semifinals.
Our other boxer Aflatun Ismiev (57 kg) defeated Artyom Panchenko (Belarus) with a score of 4:1 and reached the semifinals. Another representative of Azerbaijan in the same weight category, Raul Heydarli, defeated his Kazakh opponent Ulas Alimzhan (4:1) and reached the semifinals.
In the weight category up to 60 kg, the Azerbaijani boxer Toghrul Guliev defeated the Turkmen Mukhametemin Begenzhova 5-0 and reached the semifinals. Our other representative in the same weight category, Shahin Aslanov, defeated Tajik opponent Yusuf Gurbanov (4:1) and advanced to the semifinals.
In another match of the 1/4 finals in the 52 kg weight category, Azerbaijani boxer Ali Abasly defeated Kyrgyz athlete Khudaiberdi Abidzhanov (5:0) and advanced to the semifinals.
Earlier, Gulyar Huseynova (48 kg), Garash Rahimov (46 kg), Ali Rushanov (46 kg), Aykhan Hasanov (50 kg), Aysel Farajova (46 kg), Jamila Muradli (54 kg) and Hagverdi Hasanov (63 kg) advanced to the semifinals. They have secured at least bronze medals.
