Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Republic, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 3rd CIS Games Farid Qayibov welcomed the athletes and members of their teams participating in the 3rd CIS Games.

Azerbaijan is proud to host the 3rd CIS Games and is pleased to welcome participants, guests and fans at one of the most significant sporting events for our country.
Having proven itself to be a reliable organizer of large-scale world-class events, Azerbaijan has repeatedly become an arena for significant sporting events that bring together the best athletes and thousands of spectators from all over the world. Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, hosted the First European Games in 2015, the IV Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017, the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2019, as well as the World and European championships in many sports disciplines in various years.
The 3rd CIS Games are notable for the fact that for the first-time competitions of this scale will be held in our country outside its capital. Seven cities of Azerbaijan will host competitions in 23 sports, and will show the participants and guests of the competitions their rich culture, cordiality and warm hospitality.
The games will become an additional incentive for the economic, sports and social development of these cities, inspire young people, create vivid memories and leave a valuable legacy — new and renovated sports facilities.
We did everything to ensure that the competition was held at a high level. An experienced and dedicated team conducted the necessary training. I am confident that we will be able to provide the guests with decent conditions so that they can fully enjoy this sports festival, which they will be proud of not only in Azerbaijan, but also in all CIS countries.

It should be noted that the 3rd CIS Games will take place from September 28 to October 8, 2025, in seven cities across Azerbaijan: Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at Ganja City Stadium. Both events will start at 19:00 local time.
