As part of the preparations for the III CIS Games, the Ganja Cup 2025 swimming test competition has been launched at the Ganja Sports Palace.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Executive Power of Ganja City, and Baku City Circuit Operations Company.
Today, athletes competed in the 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly events among both men and women.
Awards for the winners and medalists of the opening day were presented by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farid Gayibov, President of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation Zaur Aliyev, Vice-President Khalig Ildyrymzade, and Executive Committee member Ruslan Alekperov.
These competitions form part of the preparatory process for the III CIS Games.
It should be noted that the III CIS Games will be held from September 28 to October 8, 2025, across seven cities of Azerbaijan: Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi.
The grand Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take place at the Ganja City Stadium.
Swimming competitions within the Games will be hosted at the Ganja Sports Palace.
