The taekwondo competitions at the 3rd CIS Games concluded today at the “Kür” Olympic Training and Sports Center in the city of Mingachevir.
On the second day of the event, 11 Azerbaijani athletes secured medals. Vasif Salimov won the gold medal in the 68 kg weight category. The remaining 10 taekwondo athletes finished with bronze medals: Samerrukh Osmanova and Zemfira Hasan-zade (both in the 49 kg category), Nigar Abdullayeva and Leyla Bashirova (both in the 57 kg category), Fuad Maharramli and Muhammad Hasanli (both in the 58 kg category), Zemfira Aslanova and Narmin Ansari (both in the 67 kg category), Rza Asadli (80 kg), and Khan Mammadzade (over 87 kg).
In total, Azerbaijani taekwondo athletes concluded the 3rd CIS Games with 22 medals.
