3rd CIS Games: Azerbaijani karateka finished the tournament with 16 medals

Karate competitions have ended today in the framework of the 3rd CIS Games in the Mingachevir Olympic complex “Kur”.

Turgut Hasanov (84 kg), Irina Zaretka (68 kg) and Farid Agaev (-75 kg) won gold medals.

Asiman Gurbanguly (+84 kg) lost in the decisive match and was satisfied with the second place. Bronze medals were won by Aisu Aliyeva (-61 kg), Farid Shahbazli (-84 kg) and Rashid Suleymanov (-75 kg).

It should be recalled that two Azerbaijani karate players in the 55-kilogram weight category met yesterday. Medina Sadigova defeated Nazrin Piriyeva and won the gold medal. The silver medal was also won by Farid Savadov (60 kg).

Our other representative Nuran Rzazade (-67 kg) defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Yerlan Akylbek (7:3) and won the gold medal.

In addition, Roman Heydarov (kata) won the gold medal, defeating Samandar Urazaliev from Uzbekistan.

Inji Azizova (50 kg), Aslan Dostuev (67 kg), Ramil Heydarova and Rovshan Aliyev (both kata) were satisfied with the bronze medal, losing in the semifinals.

Thus, our karate players finished the tournament with 16 medals.
