Karate competitions were held today at the Mingachevir Olympic Complex “Kur” as part of the 3rd CIS Games.
Two Azerbaijani karateka met in the 55 kilograms weight category. Medina Sadigova defeated Nazrin Piriyeva and won the gold medal. Also, Farid Savadov (60 kg) won silver medal.
Our other representative Nuran Rzazade (-67 kg) defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Yerlan Akylbek (7:3) and won the gold medal.
In addition, Roman Heydarov (kata) won the gold medal, defeating Samandar Urazaliev from Uzbekistan.
Inji Azizova (50 kg), Aslan Dostuev (67 kg), Ramil Heydarova and Rovshan Aliyev (both katas) were defeated in the semifinals and won bronze medals.
It should be noted that the karate competitions will end on October 4.
